About Me

Hello. My name is Kim. I graduated from the Hallmark Institute of Photography in 2003. I spent five years working at two different photography studios and was a second photographer on around 100 weddings. In January of 2009 I decided I wanted to be my own boss. I am in shock at how fast my business has grown.
I believe in simplicity. I believe in customer service. Sometimes I’m shy, sometimes I’m silly, I make couples spin in circles on their engagement sittings, I half dance while taking pictures at receptions, that’s just me. I do my best to be reasonable. One of the biggest compliments I get after a shoot is how much fun it was and how genuinely happy everyone looked in their photos. I couldn’t ask for anything more.
Everything that I photograph, I photograph with my husband, Ray. He is not just my assistant, he does wedding photography as a profession as well. He actually interviewed me for my last job (yes, that’s how we met.) We both started our own separate businesses when we were dating, and we both assist each other on every wedding. Everyone asks now that we are married, will we combine the business? Maybe some day. Right now this works quite well for us. I get to be the boss on my jobs, and he’s the boss on his. I love working with him for many reasons. He gives me peace of mind. I know that if I were to trip and fall on the day of your wedding, you would still have a photographer more than capable to handle the rest of the day. I know that if both of my cameras simultaneously combusted in my hands, you would still have all of his photographs. While we are similar we are not the same, and any photos we take at the exact same moment are going to look very different. I know that because we are different you will have a wide variety of photographs to pick from. I can be a quiet person, and he is not, and he will provide some great comic relief all day. He’s also just nice to look at. =)
